Revelstoke City Hall Rehabilitation
After a thorough selection process by the City of Revelstoke, Absolute Contracting was selected to undertake this unique commercial project and the opportunity to contribute to the restoration and revitalization Revelstoke’s City Hall.
Originally constructed in 1939 as the town’s Fire Department, the building was considered one of the first modernist civic buildings outside a major urban area in the province.
Returning City Hall to its historic state included the selective demolition of existing cement stucco walls, the front stairs and removal and replacement of aging window assemblies. Where the concrete was irreparable, it was replaced with an exterior insulated finish system.

Revelstoke’s Affordable Housing Project
After successfully selected as the general contractors for Revelstoke’s most recent affordable housing initiative, Absolute Contracting is proud to announce the completion of Revelstoke’s Affordable Housing Project in April 2023. 24 new affordable rental homes have been provided for individuals and couples with moderate and low incomes who work at Revelstoke Mountain Resort or hospitality industries. This initiative is a result of a partnership between the Province, Columbia Basin Trust, the City of Revelstoke, and the Revelstoke Community Housing Society (RCHS). The three-storey apartment building is located at 297 Humbert St., a central location to the downtown core.
Thanks to a combined grant of approximately $4.8 million from the Province and the Columbia Basin Trust through the Columbia Basin Investment in Affordable Housing Agreement, Revelstoke will receive much-needed housing for the hospitality workforce. As well, the grant provides support so individuals have feasible options to remain in their communities.
Nakusp, BC – Affordable Senior Housing
BC Housing and Arrowtarian Senior Citizens Society
In the fall of 2019, Absolute Contracting was chosen as the BC Housing Affordable Homes General Contractor for the construction of the Arrowtarian Senior Citizens Society’s 55+ independent living for low income senior comples in Nakusp, BC.
Under contract with BC Housing and the Arrowtarian Society, the 7,500 square foot, 9-unit complex compliments the existing senior’s residences built in 1971 and 1981. Absolute worked with all stakeholders to oversee the project from site preparations / civil work to completion. The project will offer affordable rental units for low income seniors. The project includes 9 units.

Nakusp, BC – Affordable Housing
BC Housing and Arrow & Slocan Lakes Community Services
In the fall of 2019, Absolute Contracting was chosen as the BC Housing General Contractor for the construction of Nakusp’s Affordable Housing initiative. Under contract by BC Housing and the Arrow & Slocan Lakes Community Services Society (ASLC), Absolute worked with all stakeholders to oversee the project from site preparations / civil work to completion.
Located at 101 First Street in Nakusp, BC. The project will offer affordable rental units for individuals, seniors and families. The project includes 10 units from 1 bedroom to 3 bedroom townhomes with carports.
